Homeless Shelter

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in.” Matthew 25:35 (NIV)

Homeless ShelterMill Grove lines up monthly meals for about 75 people at the Union County Community Shelter. The meal is prepared in advance and served at the shelter at 5:00pm. Servers should arrive at 4:30pm. Only about 5 people are needed to serve, and you will be finished by 6:00pm.

Kairos Prison Ministry

Kairos Prison MinistryDuring the initial Kairos weekend, volunteers serve as God’s instrument through which His love, grace, and mercy are expressed to the participants/guests in a real and profound way. God begins changing hearts.

Following their weekend experience, participants/guests are encouraged to take responsibility for their life choices and their relations with God; they are invited to engage in small accountability groups. Kairos volunteers continue to return monthly to provide mentoring and guidance through these accountability groups. It is here that Kairos participants/guests begin to replace old ways of thinking with new and they learn they are not alone on this journey. They realize there is a hope for a future. The prison environment begins to change; family relationships start to heal…..God is transforming lives.

Each year, 25,000 inmates and their family members are introduced to God’s love, grace, and forgiveness through Kairos.

Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas ChildSince 1993, more than 100 million children in over 130 countries have experienced God’s love through the power of simple shoebox gifts from Operation Christmas Child. Samaritan’s Purse works with local churches and ministry partners to deliver the gifts and share the life-changing Good News of Jesus Christ.

Provide a gift and share God’s love to children around the world through a gift-filled shoebox. Shoeboxes and brochures will be available in the Welcome Center.

During December, Mill Grove volunteers go the Charlotte Processing Centers. Volunteers must be at least 13 years old. Wear casual clothes and comfortable shoes. Signups are available at the Welcome Center.
